Pete Lasko learns what it feels like to be punched in the face.

360° Defense

Today we worked on the defense you would use against a wild haymaker style punch, or an overhand or underhand (or wide side swing) knife attack. The idea with the 360º defense is that by blocking with the outside of your wrist against the inside of your attackers wrist you will not only stop the attack, but you can cause some serious pain, and along with it fear.

You can do this defense a little bit wrong, and it will still work, but when you do it really right, it hurts like you wouldn’t believe.

I also got stabbed in the head with a not-that-flexible fake combat knife while we were practicing in the dark with a strobe light, and loud music playing. Silver lining: I used the exact same knife on the same kid and got him real good.

Me and Krav. Bringing balance back to the universe.
